Explanation (a) Winner of Vikram Award Namita Chandel Kayaking-Canoeing gained fame by winning the National Tournament Gold Medal held in Manipur in 2012.

Explanation (b) Rani Durgavati Cricket Stadium is called Ranital Cricket Stadium, which is a famous playground in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The Board of Control has approved Ranital Cricket Stadium for Cricket in India to organize Ranji Trophy matches. It was agreed to develop it as an international cricket stadium, but due to lack of political and administrative will, it could not become an international stadium.

Note: Ranital Cricket Ground conforms to international standards. The soil and pitch of the ground is also bet ter. According to the international standard, the ground is 65-70 yards. The stadium has a gallery of 60-80 thousand spectators in blue print. Apart from this, all the facilities have been provided which is necessary for a level cricket ground.

COMMENT-Recently, the district office of Bharatiya Janata Party has been opened near the spectator gallery of Ranital Cricket Stadium, due to which the possibilities of up grading this cricket ground have again raised question marks.

Explanation (d) Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium is located in Right Town of Jabalpur district of the state. It is the largest playground in Jabalpur, built in the Year 1976. This sports ground is being operated by the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation. This sports ground is currently being operated by the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation. The playground has a capacity of 15,000 spectators.

Remark: The first-class cricket matches have been or ganized at the Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium in the Year 1976 and 1981. These matches were played between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in the Year 1976 and between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in the Year 1981.

Note: Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Stadium is also lo cated in Durg district of Chhattisgarh.

Explanation (b) The largest sports village in the coun try is under construction since the Year 2010 with modern facilities including cricket stadium, golf course, five-star hotel, school in Satgarhi village of Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh.

 COMMENT

To reach Khelgaon, four-lane road from Bairagarh Chiwali Canal to Satgarhi village of Bhopal’s Kolar area is being constructed by Public Works Department. For the largest sports village in the country, the then state government has allotted 172 acres of government land in Satgarhi village to the sports department.

The cabinet of Madhya Pradesh approved Khel Gaon in the Year 2008.

Explanation (d) Ranital sports complex has been established in the cultural capital of Madhya Pradesh in Jabalpur in the name of Rani Durgavati. Note: In the Year 1999, during the rule of Congress, the foundation of Cricket Stadium and Cycling Bellodrome was laid.

COMMENT

Ranital Sports Complex is spread over 69.32 acres. Sports Authority of India (Sai) has set up training centre in Ranital sports complex itself. It is also a coaching centre for nine sports disciplines.
